Municipal Level Process for Slope and Hillside Development

Planning slope development involves applying for Planning Permission from the local authority, which includes a desk study and site reconnaissance by professionals to assess geological and topographical features.

The application requires Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports for significant slope development. Relevant national guidelines like the National Slope Master Plan (Volumes 1, 2, and 3) are considered, and various technical agencies and utility providers provide comments.

The process requires adherence to local and national laws, including the Town and Country Planning Act 1976 (TCPA), and may necessitate approval from State Planning Committees or the National Physical Planning Council (NPPC) for sensitive hill slopes.
